<p>After a successful pilot run of ‘The Peer-to-Peer’ Learning Scheme Project, which we made available for a local RCO in Suffolk, last year, The Basis Project in East of England is offering an opportunity to another RCO in the Eastern Region.</p>
<p>If you are a RCO based in this region and if you would like to learn from another RCO, or VCO, across the region (anywhere in East) you could apply to use this great opportunity finding another &#8216;Mentor Organisation&#8217; and visit them, in order to learn directly from them on one-to-one level.</p>
<p>Not only we will pay for your travel expenses, during the four consecutive visiting meetings to the Mentor Organisation (at theirs premises), but also we will offer £100.00 to the &#8216;Mentor Organisation&#8217; for the full day dedicated to you, the mentee, each time you visit them, thus making sure that the mentor organisation is going to dedicate proper time and energy while sharing with you their experience &amp; good practice.</p>
<p>If you are not sure which organisation to select as a ‘mentor’ organisation, we can help you to find the right one, based on your organisational needs and objectives.<br />
We have a long experience in matching-up different organisations for these occasions and reasons, for sharing and learning from each other’s strengths and, why not, for possible future partnership working together, among yourselves.</p>
<p>This is what the first mentee organisation &#8211; Zimbabwe Women&#8217;s Resource Centre in Suffolk, that took part on this piloting scheme last year reported after successfully participating on this project:<br />
The ZWRC Director: <em>“This experienced has enriched my practice and I have been able to form new and lasting relationships with peer organisations in London, who are doing similar work to what we are doing here in Ipswich.      It has been an extremely useful experience which is benefiting the women we represent.”</em></p>
<p>Don’t hesitate and waste this rare opportunity that can help you learn from another more experienced organisation that is similar to you!<br />
This is also a fantastic opportunity for building bridges for future possible partnerships.</p>
<p>The selection of the winner ‘mentee organisation’ would be based on the level of need and the depth of disadvantage that your particular community organisation is facing, when it comes to resources available to you and luck of such opportunities to learn from other organisations in the region.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Basis Project East of England would like to commission two refugee community organisations (RCOs) based in the East of England to write a skill-sharing report (one report per organisation) based on their own experience(s) they have had in the past on one of following themes:</p>
<ul>
<li>Partnership working with other organisations</li>
<li>Commissioning work that you might have delivered for a Local Authority or a Service Level Agreement (SLA) when your organisation delivered or is tendering to deliver services for a public body or other agency</li>
<li>Setting up and running a trading subsidiary / branch or a social enterprise in order to widen the fundraising options</li>
</ul>
<p>The Basis Project is an England-wide service, led by Refugee Council and Refugee Action, giving one-to-one support and training to hundreds of refugee community organisations (RCOs) to help them manage, develop and sustain their work.</p>

<strong></strong></p>
<p><strong> The deadline for receipt of completed application forms is 5:00pm Friday 24th June 2011.</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>We intend to make decisions for the two winning bids and communicate these by Wednesday 29th June.</li>
<li>All work by the chosen RCOs must then be completed and submitted to the Basis Project by Thursday 17th August 2011.</li>
<li><strong>We are offering a fixed fee of £750 per ‘Skill-sharing report’.</strong></li>
</ul>
<p>We envisage it will take an RCO 5 days to work with us and complete a resource paper. This would provide a day rate of £150.</p>
<p>The RCO will be responsible for paying all taxes, declaring this income, and will meet all costs from this fee.<br />
The payment to your organisation will depend on work being submitted on time, but we intend to make it within 30 working days after the completion of your work (by 31st August 2011).</p>
<p>We intend to commission two RCOs to carry out a skill-sharing report on one of three themes listed above each.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[This is a one-day training course that gives a practical knowledge of the issues involved for community groups while starting a social enterprise. This session is aimed at those community organisations who are thinking to trade for the community&#8217;s benefit, or want to start a brand new social enterprise.
